MASTERING YOUR MACHINE

Do you want an entry-level class? Do you have a sewing machine but are uncertain how to use it?

Join us for a hands-on introductory course that will teach the foundational skills needed to use your sewing machine. This class is perfect for you and that new (or old) machine that you just don’t know how to use yet!

Previous sewing experience is not necessary.

Only 5 places!

Students will work on Janome HD-3000 and School Mate 7330 straight-stitch home sewing machines and Janome and Babylock home sergers.

Students will:

  • Machine Basics: Understanding the different parts of your sewing machine and their functions.

  • Threading and Bobbin Winding: Properly threading the machine and winding the bobbin for smooth stitching.

  • Stitch Settings: Adjusting stitch length, width, and type to suit different fabrics and projects.

  • Troubleshooting: Identifying and fixing common issues like thread jams and tension problems.

  • Basic Sewing Techniques: Practicing straight stitching, zigzag stitching, and other fundamental techniques.

  • Machine Maintenance: Simple maintenance routines to keep your sewing machine in good working condition.

All sewing tools will be provided by Rightfully Sewn Academy and it's donors in order to promote and encourage a sustainable future in the fashion industry.
