Previous sewing experience is not necessary.

Students will:
Cut and sew a Laptop Computer Case;
Learn sewing vocabulary, including sewing machine parts and apparel construction terminology;
Learn how to thread and operate a conventional sewing machine, including trouble-shooting common issues;
Receive instruction on how to read a commercial sewing pattern;
Learn basic techniques to create sewn products, including how to pin and cut fabric and order of operations for construction; and
Receive a complimentary Rightfully Sewn sewing pattern for a Laptop Computer Case to continue sewing at home.
All sewing tools will be provided by Rightfully Sewn Academy and it's donors in order to promote and encourage a sustainable future in the fashion industry. Rightfully Sewn has fabric available for you to use, but if you want to bring in your own fabric or upcycle any fabric from home (ex: sheets, curtains, table cloths, old clothing), feel free to do so!
